Now that you have selected your question, you will use this 2-page paper to describe your topic clearly (basically listing your research question) and state your purpose in asking this question. This will be revised, based on my feedback, and added to your annotated bibliography (due during finals week).
<

<

First, I would like you to grab the audience’s attention (anecdote, example, statistic, etc.).
<

Then, I would like you to clearly state the scholarly question you’re asking, and tell us why it is important.
<

I would like you to describe the theory you will be using to frame this question. You will include information on what the theory is and does, who introduced the theory, why it’s important to your question. This will require at least one inline citation and a reference (probably from our textbook, and from the original source).
<

You will also need to briefly explain any related concepts and/or definitions that are important to your question that wouldn’t be immediately clear to laypersons.
<

The purpose of your annotated bibliography (basically, how will your annotated bibliography help you answer your scholarly question). You will say “The purpose of my annotated bibliography is to…”

Please be sure to use APA style (Use that APA 7th edition book if you have it, or use the Purdue OWL APA website!) in this paper. This includes an appropriately formatted Title page (but not an Abstract), running head, page numbers, headings/subheadings, in-text citations and References page. Also, please use 12pt font, Times New Roman, with 1″ margins, etc. All assignments are to be submitted on the course site through TurnItIn and will be checked for plagiarism.
